Unrelated, but do they at Shewired know that the site comes up as an "Attack Site"? This could really hurt their hits. Just hope someone is aware.
Cathy - I'm so glad the APA came out with this report. It's just one and we need many more statements like this. My professional association - NASW - needs to do more. Eventually, in maybe 20-30 years from now all of this will be a moot point, but until then we mustn't stop educating.
I think heterosexism and homophobia is similar to sexism and racism. Folks who believe in these ways will likely never change. It is the rare one who has a 'change of heart' (like the mom in 'Prayers for Bobby'). Most of those people I know who are racist were raised that way.
Reminds me of the health care reform debate. Seems some folks are extremely angry and enraged and it just makes me wonder - are they projecting anger from some other place? Where the heck is all of this anger coming from? Obviously, people are too emotional to think straight (ha!).
Ummmm, the Shewired site opened as cool a day ago, but then tonight got the "Attack Site" alert. What's up with that? I use a Mac, does that have something to do with it? Anyhow, somebody is making sure you can't access Shewired.
